Missing your meeting notice?
Have you noticed that the emails containing the meeting notices stopped coming to your mailbox? There may be a very simple explanation for this. Our Society takes your privacy very seriously and has stopped sending sections email addresses of members that have not given expressed permission to allow their section to send emails that relate to section business.
Since we no longer allowed to send our members email without their permission, we have stopped using any unauthorized addresses in order to respect your privacy.
However, we would like to continue to keep you informed about the local Section’s activities using email. By using email we’re able to conserve resources, the Section’s limited financial resources as well as the natural ones.
The Section tries to limit the amount of email transmitted to members to avoid abusing your in-box. Email addresses are treated as confidential information and not used for anything other than Section related business/activities. The ASQ will not share your email address with other organizations.
So if you’ve noticed that you've stopped receiving your email notices for meetings and events, this could be the reason. It may be a good time to review your ASQ profile to update your email address or change it to one that is more convenient for you.
To allow the Section to use email to keep you informed about local activities such as meetings, cook-outs, and Section-sponsored events call ASQ at 800-248-1946 and ask the Customer Care Representative to change the email preferences to allow you to receive e-mails from my Section(s) about upcoming events, newsletters, and other Section business. Additionaly, you can send us an email requesting your email address be added to our mailing list and we can forward that to HQ so that the list is updated immediately.
