The Food Drug & Cosmetic Division of ASQ – An introduction to the FD&C division and the newly approved (May 2008) CPGP certification. What the division does and the industries covered. As well as an explanation of the new certification, the body of knowledge and the timing for the first offering of the exam.
Presenter: Michael Dempsey - Manager Quality Audit, Cook Pharmica
Michael Dempsey earned his BS in Chemistry at Clemson University. He has worked for a number of Pharmaceutical companies around the country with over thirty years of experience in the industry, primarily in Quality. He was the first Quality Engineer for a large international pharmaceutical company. He has held positions as Manager and Director of QA/QC for several companies in Indiana.
While living in North Carolina he served as a Senior Examiner for the North Carolina Quality Leadership Award for which he was presented the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, a prestigious service award by the Governor of North Carolina.
Professional Affiliations: Active Senior member of America Society for Quality (ASQ). He holds committee chairs in the South Central Indiana Section 920 and is a committee chair for the ASQ Food Drug and Cosmetic and Inspection Divisions. He is also a Regional Councilor for the FD&C Division Region 9. He is an active member of the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS) and helped to charter the local Indy-Cincy Chapter as Chapter Co-chair in 2004.
Mike holds current ASQ certifications as a Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor and Quality Manager.
